The World Unsundered

Erebus. Asphodelos. Fire. Fear. Nothing.
That is all he remembers.
Perhaps that is all he wishes to know.

Upon Returning

A shard of Erebus was discovered upon the Source and recruited under Lahabrea. He operated as an Ascian of the Twelfth Chalice until Lahabrea's unfortunate fall, gathering crystals and felling would-be dissenters of Zodiark from the shadows. He rarely saw the Unsundered convocation member in person, and strongly preferred it that way. Something about the man shook Erebus to the core, and not knowing what only made him further terrified.Erebus' colleagues would describe him as unstable, defiant, and ultimately a workplace hazard (read: fucked-up mess). He was a wild card. When a path of destruction was to be laid, the Ascian cared not who was in its wake. Death never came swiftly at his hands. Mangled remains of corpses told the story of someone who enjoyed toying with his victims. Those who survived a battle continued to do so only in name - no longer themselves or aware of their identity. Many would even turn on their own partners and children to commit unspeakable atrocities.What is certain is that Erebus is a danger to, well, everyone.

Now

With Lahabrea gone and Zodiark dead, Erebus is left to wander the Source and do as they please - unfortunately for literally everyone else. One can often find them being a general nuisance alongside Sin when darker plans are not afoot. A giggle and a twirl may leave one with a cute impression of the Ascian. But snow flurries can turn into a blizzard - such is their temper.

Hooks

  • Ascian: By far the most obvious hook, Erebus is a sundered Ascian from the Source. Like all lesser Ascians, he answers answered to an unsundered Ascian. When Lahabrea fell and Erebus' antics became too problematic to ignore on the Source, Emet-Selch brought the former to heel.

  • Hey, Aren't You Dead?: Lesser Ascians cannot possess a vessel already occupied by a soul, so the various vessels Erebus uses are corpses. Previous tenants were likely someone's lover, friend, family, enemy, or somehow otherwise acquainted.

  • Is It Cold in Here or is it Just Me?: The temperature of the air surrounding Erebus will fluctuate depending upon his mood. With little control over his powers and an unstable mind to boot, it won't just be his pale gaze that's cold when he's angered. Aside from the climate, one may also notice their breath is visible, nearby water is freezing solid, or any other indicator of subzero temperatures.

NSFW Head Canons

  • Diluc is a switch, but will fight to maintain dominance.

  • He enjoys punishment but will not explicitly say so. Instead, Diluc often becomes a brat when submissive.

  • As a dominant, he will engage in fire play with his vision if you consent to it.

  • Wary of emotional vulnerability and closeness, he is more likely to engage in rough sex over emotionally intimate sex.

  • Diluc can become lost in the moment's passion and go too far, but will stop/change/slow down immediately if his partner asks.

  • Scared of Mondstadt finding out about his sexuality, Diluc has not had sex before but knows how it works from reading novels and catches on quickly.
